David Johnson is the president and owner of AAA Glass Tint, a commercial window film contractor serving the Chicago metropolitan area and Northern Illinois. He acquired the company in 2016.
AAA Glass Tint has installed commercial window film since 1984. David acquired an established business with a commercial client base anchored in the western suburbs, and has kept the company focused exclusively on commercial work. AAA Glass Tint does not perform residential or automotive installations.
Before entering the window film industry, David spent ten years in the golf industry at high end country clubs. That work meant serving a demanding clientele, delivering results around the people using the facility, and being judged on the finished product. The same standards apply to commercial buildings that stay occupied while the work is done.
David has worked in every part of the business, from installation to company leadership. He personally conducts most site assessments and prepares project estimates. AAA Glass Tint has dedicated teams of certified installers who carry out the installation, and they are employees of the company rather than subcontractors. The company that assesses the building is the same company that installs the film.
As of September 2026, AAA Glass Tint has invoiced more than 4,800 commercial window film projects since 2016, approximately 30 percent of them security film installations. Projects range from a single entrance door to buildings with several hundred panels of glass.

According to Solar Gard’s certification letter, individuals at AAA Glass Tint have been formally trained and certified in the technical capabilities, risk assessment and installation of Armorcoat safety and security films. The certification covers intrusion resistance, blast mitigation, glass retention and safety glazing applications across the 4 to 14 mil range, along with the attachment systems those applications may require.
