AAA Glass Tint is a commercial window film contractor serving commercial buildings throughout Northern Illinois since 1984. Our headquarters is in Elgin.

Commercial Window Film Solutions for Elgin's Diverse Commercial Market

Elgin is our home. AAA Glass Tint is headquartered here, and Elgin’s hospitals, schools, churches, offices, stores and industrial buildings along Randall Road, Route 20 and I-90 make up some of our longest-running customer relationships. The window problems are familiar ones: heat and glare in offices, privacy in clinics and conference rooms, safety and security at entrances, and branding on interior glass.

Every project starts on site. David Johnson, the owner, or one of our field technicians looks at the glass type, sun exposure, framing and how the space is used, and recommends the film that fits that building. Our own crews do the installation.

Our work in Elgin and the surrounding area

Here are some of the projects we have completed in Elgin and the surrounding area. This is a sample, not a complete list of our work there.

Advocate Sherman Hospital. More than 80 separate decorative and privacy film installations, including custom hallway designs we created for the hospital in 2017 and 2018. See the Advocate Sherman Hospital case study.

Central Unit School District 301. From 2020 to 2025 we installed about 9,000 square feet of window film across the district’s schools and district office.

Grand Victoria Casino. Since 2017 we have completed more than a half dozen projects at the casino: solar control and blackout film at the south entrance hallway and doors, film in the banquet room and executive offices, frosted film on 12 concourse panels in 2024, Solar Gard Sentinel Plus DX 15 on the regional vice president’s office in 2024, and old film removal and new blackout film in 2025.

Winston Knolls School. In 2026 we installed safety film with perimeter caulking on 29 atrium glass panels at this private school, about 825 square feet, so that if the glass is accidentally broken the film helps hold the pieces together and reduces the risk of injury from falling glass.

Offices and businesses. Frosted privacy film for offices at 2500 Westfield Drive and 1600 Larkin Avenue and for Chase Bank on Randall Road, working with Swan Contractors (2019 to 2025); Solar Gard TrueVue 30 in two suites at 75 Market Street for JRA Holdings (2023); blackout film with caulking on 14 panels at 2701 Galvin Drive with McShane Construction (2020); Panorama Slate 20 at Kellenberger Plumbing (2021); and window film on 58 warehouse panels at Nobelus (2025).

Healthcare, churches and community. Decorative film in the gift shop at St. Joseph Hospital (2020); Solar Gard TrueVue 5 and white frosted film at St. Joseph Church (2025); film in the offices, nursery and playroom at St. Hugh Church (2020 and 2022); gradient film and lettering at Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, working with Reliant Contract Glass (2018); and Panorama Slate 20 in the bar area at the Elgin Riverside Club (2019).

South Elgin. Security film at Lacey’s, a Lucky Lincoln Gaming location on Randall Road (2026), and window graphics at Leslie’s Pools and Supplies (2016).

Window Film Services for Elgin Commercial and Institutional Properties

Safety and Security Film Security window film holds broken glass together. Attached to the frame, it keeps the glass in the opening longer, so forcing entry takes more time and effort, at entry doors, sidelights and ground-floor windows. It does not make glass unbreakable, and it is not bulletproof; see What Security Window Film Can and Cannot Do. AAA Glass Tint is an Armorcoat Certified Partner. School Safety Film For school entrances where the existing glass and framing are suitable, we commonly recommend 8 mil clear Armorcoat with a four-sided DOWSIL 995 wet glaze attachment on the door and sidelight glass, scheduled around the academic calendar. See our school safety film service and Security Window Film Grants for Schools, Churches and Nonprofits.

Solar Control Film Offices, medical buildings and stores along Randall Road, Route 31 and Route 20 with south and west facing glass bring heat and glare onto workstations and waiting areas. Solar control film reduces the sun’s heat on the existing glass; darker films also cut glare, while lighter films keep the glass looking clear but cut less glare. Some Low-E films also reduce heat loss in winter; see Can Window Film Fix Hot Spots and Glare? and Low-E Window Film vs. Window Replacement. Learn more about solar control film →

Privacy Film Healthcare facilities, professional offices and conference rooms use frosted and gradient film to screen views while passing daylight. Frosted film obscures direct views day and night, although silhouettes may remain visible. Reflective privacy film generally loses its privacy effect when the inside is brighter than the outside; see Does Privacy Window Film Work at Night? and Window Film for Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities. Learn more about privacy film →

Decorative Film Hospitals, offices and institutions use decorative film to brand interior glass, add custom designs and finish lobbies, reception areas and conference rooms without permanent construction. Learn more about decorative film →

Anti-Graffiti Film Storefronts and street-level glass can take sacrificial anti-graffiti film, which takes the etching and tagging instead of the glass and is replaced when damaged. Learn more about anti-graffiti film →

Bird Strike Film Large glass near trees, ponds and open space can be a collision risk for birds. Exterior patterned bird film makes the glass visible to birds; see Bird Collision Window Film for Existing Buildings. Learn more about bird strike film →
